About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

Graduates will: * Demonstrate the competencies of a Registered Nurse as determined by the Nursing Council of New Zealand; * Show developing skills in clinical leadership; * Generate, critique and utilise nursing knowledge, and contribute to the evidence base of practice through research; * Be able to integrate practice based and theoretical knowledge; and * Provide culturally responsive care and support to people to manage their health and wellbeing. Graduates of the Whare Wananga o Waikato - University of Waikato MNursPrac programme will demonstrate clinical competencies required by the Nursing Council of New Zealand for practice as a Registered Nurse. They will be prepared to provide leadership to the nursing workforce and health services, articulate models of care to address population health needs, produce research that extends the boundaries of nursing knowledge, inform health policy with knowledge derived from critically examined clinical experience and advocate for strategies that address inequities in health care regionally and nationally.
