What can I expect out of this qualification?

Successful completion of the Master of Health Psychology followed by the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology Practice will mean graduates are eligible to apply for registration as a psychologist. Employment options for graduates of the Master of Health who do not proceed to the PGDipHlthPsycPrac include health promotion, health policy, public health, and other mental health and wellbeing roles in both district health boards and non-governmental agencies. Other MHlthPsyc graduates may proceed to doctoral study and pursue academic and research careers.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Entry to the Master of Health Psychology requires a Bachelor of Health in Health Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology or Bachelor of Arts in Psychology or an equivalent qualification, with an average grade of at least B. Students who do not meet the minimum grade average may be permitted to enrol in the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology and apply to progress to the Master of Health Psychology on the basis of their performance in the PGDipHlthPsyc.
