A bachelors degree with an average grade of B or better in a discipline other than software development, computer science, or related subject, and a basic level of programming skill.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

Graduates will have some of the technical knowledge and skills to develop practical software systems, using a range of software technologies and tools. Graduates will be able to assist programmers/software developers. Some graduates may continue to the Postgraduate Diploma in Software Development (VI002L) or the Master of Software Development (VI002A). The PGCertSwDev also acts as an exit qualification from these.
