What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates will have an economic toolbox that they can apply to real-world problems. Graduates will be able to apply economic frameworks to business and policy-related issues. They will be able to undertake applied economic research in a professional context and communicate this in ways appropriate for a range of stakeholders. They will be qualified to work at a fairly advanced level in government departments and agencies, state owned enterprises, banks and other private companies and consultancies in New Zealand, as well as internationally. Some graduates may be able to continue to the Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Economics (VI001J) or the Master of Professional Economics (VI001G).
