What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates will be highly proficient in te reo Māori, tikanga and āhuatanga Māori. They will be expert crafters of words and sayings. Their language will be expansive, lofty and of substance. The tauira will tend the eternal flame of the language and be its advocate, and an example for future generations. They will be well equipped to lead and make significant contributions to a wide range of projects and organisations where te reo and tikanga Māori are a high priority, including marae, rūnanga, kōhanga, kura, wānanga, and language revival projects to name but a few. They will be able to give sound advice relating to tikanga Māori and Māori language in a wide range of domains. Graduates will be suitable for key roles in the following sectors: ;the education sector ;Māori research and development ;the public sector ;the broadcasting sector ;publishing and Māori resource development ;the private sector
