What can I expect out of this qualification?

The aim of the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) is to prepare graduates of the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent to undertake research as part of their occupational therapy practice in bicultural Aotearoa New Zealand, and to pursue advanced study. The qualification will increase their knowledge in a specific area of practice and may therefore increase the range of roles into which a graduate may be employed.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Minimum academic entry criteria are: Äkonga are admitted to this programme after completion of the third year of an undergraduate Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree. They are required to commence study in the Honours programme within three years of completing their degree. To be admitted to the programme äkonga must have passed all courses in the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy programme (on their first attempt). In years two and three äkonga must have achieved a minimum B grade average or equivalent. Only graded components contribute to this calculation. For courses which do not award grades äkonga must pass each course on their first attempt. Special circumstances can be considered on application by äkonga to the Head of School.
