What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates of the Massey University Master of Applied Linguistics will be able to critically analyse major issues and themes in Applied Linguistics using sound theoretical knowledge and a high-level of skill in analysis, synthesis and critical evaluation of language issues and their implications. They will be able to contribute to research and practice relating to second language acquisition and language use in a range of research and educational contexts in New Zealand and abroad.

Minimum requirements
A Bachelors degree, with a minimum B average over the 200 and 300-level courses, or equivalent, and at least one full-time year of releavant teaching experience, or equivalent; or a Postgraduate Diploma in Second Language Teaching or a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics with a minimum B+ average for the research pathway or a minimum B average for the coursework pathway.
