What can I expect out of this qualification?
Bachelor of Animal Science graduates are qualified to undertake a wide range of technical, advocacy and management roles across the production animal, equine and companion animal science industries. Examples include monogastric and ruminant nutritionists, animal breeding specialists, animal welfare officers and key roles at meat processing plants. A good understanding of scientific principles, including physiology, metabolism, genetics, nutrition and animal behaviour, enables graduates to integrate knowledge and skills from different disciplines to help solve complex problems in a wide range of animal science industries. Graduates are required to focus their studies through one of four majors; growth and nutrition, animal genetics and breeding, animal welfare or equine science.
