About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The programme aims to develop graduates exhibiting intellectual independence and capability, meeting the requirements for award of the Bachelor of Engineering Technology, and satisfying the Engineering New Zealand requirements for entry to engineering practice leading to professional recognition in the civil, electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.

Minimum requirements

University Entrance - NCEA Level 3 including * Three subjects at level 3 including: - Physics with a minimum of 14 credits - Calculus with a minimum of 14 credits, and - one other subject with a minimum of 14 credits from the list of approved subjects* and * Literacy - 10 credits at Level 2 or above, made up of 5 credits in reading, 5 credits in writing and * Numeracy - 10 credits at Level 1 or above (specified achievement standards, or unit standards 26623, 26626, 26627). * NZQA approved subjects: see http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/qualifications-standards/awards/university-entrance OR Equivalent academic qualifications which may include University Bursary with 45% or more in both Physics and Calculus or Algebra; equivalent Cambridge score, equivalent International Baccalaureate Applicants seeking admission onto the Asset Management Degree Apprenticeship will also be required to be in suitable employment arrangements. Employment suitability will be determined by the provider in consultation with the workplace and learner. EAL students must meet the minimum academic entry requirements and have achieved an overall band score (Academic) of 6.0 IELTS, (writing and speaking score no less than 6.0 and reading and listening bands no less than 5.5) or equivalent.
