What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates will be able to: ? Comprehend, explain, critique and apply basic architectural knowledge; ? Demonstrate effective and confident problem solving skills; ? Understand and be able to select basic construction and servicing technologies to apply to architectural problems; ? Display an understanding of the representational tools available for the transmission of architectural concepts and information; ? Appreciate fundamental aspects of some parts of the professional architectural work environment; ? Display an understanding of architectural culture as exhibited in architectural history and of the role of theory and criticism in architectural discourse; ? Critically analyse their own performance, taking into account new knowledge; ? Display awareness of the fundamentals characteristics of New Zealand building law and basic contract management procedures; ? Evaluate and/or propose strategies for assessing the environmental sustainability of architectural projects.
