Entry requirements
Completed a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with a minimum GPA, or completed a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and passed 60 points, with a minimum GPA, in a Postgraduate Certificate in Engineering in a relevant subject or in a Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Materials Engineering, or completed a relevant Bachelors degree with a minimum GPA and has at least three years of relevant professional experience, or completed a relevant Bachelors degree, and a relevant Postgraduate Diploma with a minimum GPA (120-point pathway); or completed a relevant Bachelors degree with a minimum GPA, or completed a relevant Bachelors degree and passed 60 points, with a minimum GPA, in a Postgraduate Certificate in Engineering in a relevant subject or in a Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Materials Engineering (180-point pathway).

What can I expect out of this qualification?
MMaterialsEng graduates will have mastery of the knowledge and competencies in materials engineering.?In addition, they will be able to consider the wider impacts of materials science and engineering topics from both ethical and societal viewpoints. The graduates' skills and ability to apply their knowledge will improve the capabilities of the materials engineering and other relevant engineering professions in New Zealand and internationally. The expected breadth of disciplinary knowledge and practice will be less for students with the more focused research masters. Following the award of their MMaterialsEng degree, graduates may elect to pursue an academic or research career and apply to study a PhD in the area of materials science and engineering.
