Entry requirements
To be admitted to this micro-credential all applicants must be at least 16 years of age on the date of the micro-credential's commencement for the semester in which they wish to enrol (or provide a completed Early Release Exemption form), and meet the following requirement:
Open Entry if the delegated authority at the campus/site is satisfied that the applicant has the capability to complete the requirements of the micro-credential.
Or equivalent.
Special and Discretionary admission is also available.
About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this micro-credential aims to empower ākonga with a deepened understanding and practical skills in marae protocols and leadership through, connection to narratives (pūrākau and/or pakiwaitara), and leadership through tikanga Māori. This micro-credential is designed to preserve and promote the rich traditions of māori culture, ensuring that knowledge of tikanga Māori (Māori customs), te reo Māori (Māori language), and whanaungatanga (relationships) can be utilised in community, business, and educational settings.
Ākonga will gain experience in marae protocols, enhancing their ability to contribute meaningfully to their communities and businesses and fostering a strong sense of identity and cultural pride.
