About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The overall aim of this micro-credential is to provide the commercial fishing sector with individuals who hold the skills, knowledge, and attributes to apply safe and hygienic work practices while processing seafood products in an offshore commercial fishing environment. This includes hygienically handling seafood, carrying out safe work practices while on vessel, and understanding seafood worker responsibilities.
This aim is achieved by supporting ākonga with both on-job and off-job learning, allowing learning to be applied in a practical way, across a range of situations, within the ākonga role in the workplace.
