About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of the micro credential is to enable learners to grow self-confidence, to provide a foundational understanding of tikanga and mātauranga Māori, and to demonstrate knowledge of the application of these, in a hauora context.

This micro-credential caters to those kaimahi currently employed within the hauora sector, providing a valuable opportunity for staff development and enhancement of skills. Furthermore, the micro-credential also extends accessibility to a broader audience, making it inclusive for those individuals aspiring to enter the hauora workforce or to embark on a career in the hauora sector. Additionally, this initiative serves as an entry point for whānau seeking opportunities to engage in education and training in hauora.

This micro-credential will prepare kaimahi to better serve Māori in the hauora sector and strengthen the hauora workforce to engage effectively with whānau.
