Entry requirements

Open entry. This micro-credential is designed for those who are currently working in the tourism and hospitality sector, aged 18 or over. If English is not your first language, evidence of competency in English is required as detailed: * Achievement of NCEA Level 3 and met New Zealand University requirements or * English proficiency of an IELTS score of 6 with no band less than 5.5 or Pearson Test of English score of 50 with no band score lower than 42 AND English proficiency outcome needs to have been achieved in the last two years before enrolment and in one sitting.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this micro-credential is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to recognise the behaviour of people for whom gambling can become harmful and are able to take action to support responsible gambling in Class 4 venues.
It will provide Class 4 venue staff with the knowledge and skills to identify problem gambling behaviours, understand and to apply harm minimisation and responsible gambling strategies, and effectively manage and implement these tools when engaging with patrons to minimise harm and promote responsible gambling.
By integrating the principles of Te Ao Māori this micro-credential aims to promote responsible gambling in a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment within Class 4 venues.
