What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification is designed to provide the community with advocates who have the knowledge of the human body to support healthy lifestyle choices including healthy eating to help maintain wellness.
This qualification is intended for learners who wish to gain evidence-based knowledge and understanding of New Zealand health trends and risks to health.
Graduates will be capable of working under supervision in a wellness context.
Graduates will use holistic approaches to promote and support the health aspirations of Māori, Pasifika, Tangata Whaikaha and other groups, through ethical interaction with the community within their scope of practice.

Minimum requirements

* Applicants must be over 16 years of age. * Applicants must have NCEA Level 3 or equivalent This includes: 12 credits at level 3 in English (or a NZQA approved literacy subject) and a science related subject. OR New Zealand Certificate in Study and Employment Pathways (Level 4) with Cornerstone Education Ltd (Health Science pathway) or equivalent. OR If equivalent skills for tertiary study can be demonstrated as gained through study, work and/or life experience, alternative entry will be allowed.
