Entry requirements

The micro-credential is geared for the working professional. The key entry criteria are that candidates be actively involved in the IT sector or possess at least 12 months of recent (within the last three years) professional experience in the IT sector. Candidates who do not meet these criteria will be allowed entry if they meet the following requirements: * Bachelor or higher IT degree Entry criteria also include English-language requirements. For international students, according to the NZQF Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules 2013 (Appendix 2), candidates must possess an IELTS Academic score of 5.5, with no band score lower than 5 from a single test taken in the previous 2 years; or the New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Academic) (Level 5) [Ref: 1884] or equivalent in accordance with NZQA's Table for Internationally Recognised English Proficiency Outcomes for International Students.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The Advanced Software Testing Automation (ASTA) micro-credential aims to equip ICT
industry professionals or graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary for them to work
as testing automation professionals in the ICT industry. Students will gain a deep
understanding of testing automation fundamentals and develop proficiency with various
contemporary testing automation tools and frameworks. Additionally, they will learn best
practices for testing automation, including how to integrate it within organisational and project
contexts and processes.
