Entry requirements
Must hold New Zealand Diploma of Teaching (Primary) level 7, a Bachelor degree at level 7, a Bachelor degree with honours at level 8 or a Master's degree at level 9 qualification; Demonstrate ability to meet the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand's Code of Professional Responsibility and the Standards for the Teaching Profession (2017); All students must meet the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand language requirements; International students must meet the NZQA Rule 18 language requirements

What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates of the Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) will extend degree-level knowledge, skills and abilities from previous study. This includes, but is not limited to, an understanding of bicultural and multicultural issues and will gain knowledge and skills in early childhood teacher education. Graduates will be able to gain New Zealand teacher certification and employment as a registered teacher in New Zealand. Graduates will successfully apply and extend degree skills of analysis, research, critical thinking, and reflective skills to a range of early childhood settings, including Māori and Pasifika, to enable them to work independently, as well as collaboratively in diverse early childhood situations.
