About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The aim of this micro-credential is to build learners' knowledge of the Māori world to develop their engagement with Mātauranga Māori in the workplace. They will develop confidence in seeing through a Te Ao Māori lens and understand a Te Ao Māori worldview. Each module acts as a building block to support learners from diverse backgrounds to gain a better understanding of Mātauranga Māori and the role that it plays in society and our workplaces.

This programme has been designed so that people from diverse backgrounds can engage in the material. It recognises the importance of prior knowledge and experiences to further inform how they could demonstrate a commitment to Mātauranga Māori within their personal and professional life. Whether they are familiar with Mātauranga Māori or not, this course will enhance learners' bi-cultural confidence and ability to understand, communicate with and interact effectively with people from all walks of life, further deepening their own commitment to cultural responsiveness.
