What can I expect out of this qualification?

MPCP (Poutiritāeo) provides the opportunity to apply an advanced body of knowledge, derived from research to a body of publicly accessible creative work. This sustained body of creative work will develop, extend and refine prior professional practice, processes and knowledge.MPCP (Poutiritāeo) shall be characterised by advanced study in creative practice, and as such, the programme shall:*Require intensive and advanced study, building on a foundation of undergraduate knowledge and skills;*Require a sustained high degree of self-directed and independent work;*Extend understanding of the application of research to a sustained creative practice discipline;*Require excellent communication skills for critically analysing, synthesising, evaluating, and influencing issues relevant to sustained creative practice;*Expect graduates to demonstrate skills of research, critical analysis, constructive synthesis and application so as to demonstrate scholarly inquiry, independence of thought, and sustained advanced practice.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

An NZQF-listed Bachelor s or higher level degree (or equivalent) in a creative practice field with a minimum of the equivalent to a B average as per the EIT-specified 11-point achievement-based grading system; or in the absence of the above, provisional admission on the basis of an evaluation of a portfolio of work; or at the Dean s discretion, where an applicant s situation is compelling but not covered by the requirements listed above. 4.2.5 Applicants from countries in which English is not the primary spoken language must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. Ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include (i) completion of a programme of study in which English was the language of instruction (conditions apply*), and (ii) approved scores on IELTS tests, namely an Academic score of 6.5 with no band lower than 6 (or accepted international equivalents). *See NZQA English language entry requirements for international students at http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/about-us/our-role/legislation/nzqa-rules/nzqf-related-rules/programme-approval-and-accreditation/8/18/ 4.2.6 An international student must be in possession of an appropriate visa for the duration of the Programme.
