About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of the micro-credential is to provide educators with the skills and knowledge to more effectively respond to and support the educational, cultural and emotional needs of tamariki with complex learning need(s). The micro-credential is intended for qualified and experienced early childhood or primary teaching professionals who wish to develop a toolkit of strategies that can be used when working with tamariki who have a complex learning need(s) such as autism spectrum disorder. Note, this micro-credential does not cover assessing or testing for learning disorders or disabilities.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
- the New Zealand/National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 3) or higher OR - NCEA Level 3 OR - equivalent academic achievement on a case-by-case basis OR - an academic discretion from the Executive Dean. attend an interview to confirm they: - have existing knowledge and skills in working with children as an educator; and - are currently working in an acceptable educational setting (either paid or unpaid).
