About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

This micro-credential is designed to upskill current primary industry employees, from workforce to project managers, enabling them to increase their essential knowledge, skill and capabilities within their area of employment. Learners who undertake this micro-credential will be recognised within their designated fields as having experience, skills and capabilities in project management and be competent to successfully design and execute projects in the primary industries sector. Learners will be required to complete 100 hours of learning and assessment to meet the learning outcomes. Recognition of Academic Credit is not available for this micro-credential.

Minimum requirements

Academic Requirements: 10 NCEA Level 1 literacy credits and 10 NCEA Level 1 numeracy credits If applicants have undertaken a qualification or examination other than NCEA (e.g. International Baccalaureate, Cambridge Examination), NMIT will assess this for academic entry equivalency. English Language Requirements: If English is not the applicant's first language, applicants will need to provide a result from a test or qualification on the acceptable alternatives English Proficiency Outcomes Table: IELTS 5.5 Academic (no lower than 5.0 in each band), Note: Applicants who do not have evidence of English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, may contact NMIT for an assessment Applicants who have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance requirements are not required to provide evidence of English language skills. Alternative Requirements: Applicants (including those over 20 years of age) who are unable to evidence that they meet Academic entry requirements, but who can demonstrate acquired skills for tertiary study gained through study, work and/or life experience, may be approved for alternative entry by the Curriculum Manager (or delegate).
