About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the outdoor and adventure education industry with practitioners who are personally competent across a range of outdoor activities and are able to lead others in some of those activities.
Graduates will be capable of operating in low-risk, low-technical dynamic outdoor environments under direct supervision.
Graduates will contribute to the cultural, social, environmental and economic wellbeing of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Graduates of this qualification may be eligible to apply for full registration on the New Zealand Register of Recreation Professionals (NZRRP).

Minimum requirements
Minimum of 18 years of age A genuine interest in the outdoors A good level of physical fitness to meet the demands of the course Water confident Self-motivated with a responsible attitude and an ability to work with others Academic: English language requirements - all applicants must have a standard of English sufficient to be able to study at this level. International students or students for whom English is not their first language will to have met the requirements set out by NZQA and provide evidence of this gained in the last two years.
