About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the outdoor and adventure education industry with practitioners who are personally competent across a range of outdoor activities and are able to lead others in some of those activities.
Graduates will be capable of operating in low-risk, low-technical dynamic outdoor environments under direct supervision.
Graduates will contribute to the cultural, social, environmental and economic wellbeing of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Graduates of this qualification may be eligible to apply for full registration on the New Zealand Register of Recreation Professionals (NZRRP).

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
60 credits at NCEA Level 1 including 10 NCEA Level 1 literacy and 10 NCEA Level 1 numeracy credits or equivalent, and the capability to meet the fitness requirements below. Reasonable level of fitness Evidence of suitability based on interview, health screening, safety check under the Vulnerable Children s Act 2015 and referee reports International IELTS 5.5 (no band lower than 5.0), or equivalent.
