What can I expect out of this qualification?

To support students to advance research methods as a practice-based methodology to achieve a critically informed body of creative work that contributes to the subject knowledge of fine arts; apply practice-based and academic critical evaluation skills and understanding to inform a significant self-directed, independent research inquiry/project; adapt and situate independent creative outcomes within key theoretical, contextual and critical frameworks of reference and influence; communicate and present a critical evaluation of the significance of the research project to the wider field of fine arts.

Minimum requirements

Applicants must present evidence of: Successful completion of an undergraduate diploma or degree qualification equivalent to Level Seven on the NZQF (New Zealand Qualifications Framework); A GPA of final undergraduate year (Level 7, 120 credits) of B- or above; A portfolio that reflects their skills and potential. A letter of intent or declaration of research interests Academic writing ability which reflects the potential for successful study at the graduate level (examples of previous academic writing may be submitted) Applicants whose first language is not English are required to provide satisfactory evidence of proficiency in the English language, such as a minimum score of 625 on the TOEFL test, or 6.5 on the IELTS
