About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification will provide Aotearoa New Zealand with graduates who have the skills and knowledge to operate under indirect supervision to deliver exercise instruction for individuals within the general population.
Graduates will operate within a framework of health and wellness in relation to individual, group or community needs and contribute to the cultural, social and economic wellbeing of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Graduates can adapt and deliver appropriate exercise programmes and will have knowledge of exercise training principles and concepts.
Graduates will be eligible to register with the New Zealand Register of Exercise Professionals

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
For Domestic Students: * Applicants will be 20 years of age or older * Mature applicants under 20 may be considered following a personal interview * A passion for exercise must be demonstrated. For International Students: As for domestic students AND IELTS (Overall score of 5.5, with no band score lower than 5) or NZQA-approved equivalent. All applicants will be interviewed to ensure their suitability for the programme. Employment in a fitness facility is not a requirement for entry and learners can enter the programme without employment Distance learners must have access to a fitness facility and suitable learning device for access to online learning.
