What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide library and information service providers with people who have skills in multiple literacies, reader development, and library programme design and delivery for children and teens within Aotearoa New Zealand's diverse communities.
This qualification is intended for people working with children and teens in libraries, schools and public sector organisations.
Graduates will often lead programmes and will be able to work in a supervisory/coaching/influencing role in their area of specialty.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Academic Entry Requirements Applicants must have: Evidence of successful study at level 5 in information and library studies or a related field such as teaching. Applicants who have attained the age of 20 years and do not hold the minimum entry requirements will be eligible to be enrolled where their previous educational, work or life experience indicates they have a reasonable likelihood of success. Domestic Language Entry Requirements If English or Maori is not the applicant's first language, applicants will need an IELTS (Academic) score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5, or equivalent. International English Language Entry Requirements International applicants will need an IELTS (Academic) score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5, or equivalent.
