What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is designed to provide the beauty sector with therapists who have the skills and knowledge to analyse, plan and provide a broad range of beauty services.
This qualification is intended for learners who have little or no prior learning or experience in beauty services.
The beauty sector will benefit by having beauty therapists with the skills and knowledge to competently provide a range of beauty services.
Graduates will be capable of working under broad guidance with a degree of self-management in a beauty therapy context.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
All applicants must: Have successfully achieved: the National Certificate in Educational Achievement (NCEA) (Level 1) or an equivalent qualification; or an NZQA-approved qualification or an equivalent qualification at a higher level; or if 20 years old or older and without any qualifications, show evidence of the ability to successfully achieve and succeed in the programme; and communicate effectively in all areas of English to a suitable and appropriate level. Domestic students must also be at least 16 years old by the programme's start date. International students must also: be at least 18 years old by the programme's start date; and meet the English language requirements set forth by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (see our Web site for current information).
