What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for learners who are seeking to develop a range of essential skills and knowledge in the skin care, beauty and related industries.
These sectors will benefit by having access to graduates with the skills and knowledge to competently and safely undertake a range of essential skin care and make-up services within workplaces where skin care, make-up and other cosmetics products are applied and sold.
Graduates of this qualification will have developed practical application of knowledge and skills in preparation for further study but will also be capable of working with initial supervision in a skin care and beauty context.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Be at least 16 years of age (or 18 if international student); Have NCEA Level 1 or equivalent; Have an intermediate level of written & oral English; Demonstrate a genuine interest in working in the industry; have no major physical or mental disabilities (such as neck or back injuries) which could adversely affect their chances of successfully achieving the programme outcomes; If an international student where English is not their first language, then they must have IELTS Level 5 or equivalent.
