What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the meat industry with people who have the knowledge and skills to as trade qualified butchers in compliance with legislative and food safety requirements.
This qualification is designed for people working in the butchery industry and will typically be achieved in the workplace environment.
The qualification is designed to recognise trade essential knowledge and skills with optional strands that reflect areas of specialisation.
Graduates will be able to operate independently within the meat industry.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Entry is open to individuals who have an interest in retail butchery; however, it is recommended candidates hold the National Certificate in Educational Achievement (Level 2) [Ref: 0973] or equivalent skills and knowledge. This programme is not open to International Students. Skills4Work Limited will consider students for special admission who do not satisfy the academic entry requirements for the programme but who, in the opinion of Skills4Work Limited, are capable of achieving the programme graduate outcomes.
