What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for those who have advanced knowledge and understanding of mātauranga Māori, and extensive experience working with Māori communities.
The purpose of this qualification is to provide graduates who can lead, promote, and enhance the continued development of Māori Public Health, and encourage Māori to take control of their social, economic, cultural, and collective wellbeing.
Graduates will be able to design and evaluate Māori Public Health initiatives incorporating social, economic, cultural and environmental contexts that contribute to the reduction of Māori health inequities.

Minimum requirements
As per the NZQA qualification document there are no prerequisites or entry requirements. This means that the entry requirements are as per our programme which require akonga to be existing health practitioners with advanced knowledge and understanding of matauranga Maori and an extensive knowledge of working with Maori communities.
