What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide people with the skills, capabilities, knowledge and attributes needed to progress and succeed in their field of study or employment pathway.
This qualification is for people intending to pursue further qualifications in their chosen field of study or employment pathway at New Zealand Qualifications Framework Level 4 or above.
The qualification acknowledges the primacy of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in programme design and delivery.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
To enrol in this programme, a potential tauira must meet all enrolment requirements, including Te Wananga o Aotearoa Terms and Conditions of Enrolment and any relevant conditions specified by the Ministry of Education, the Education Act 1989 and the Tertiary Commission. Tauira must be at least 16 years of age (unless an exemption from attending school has been granted) at the commencement of the programme. An exemption from attending school may be granted by a person designated under sections 21 or 26 of the Education Act 1989, by a school principal from a school in which the prospective tauira is registered, or by the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Education. Tauira must be New Zealand citizens (or citizens of Australia, Tokelau, Niue, Cook Islands) or permanent residents. Tauira must not exceed Study Load requirements. Specifically, tauira can only enrol in one full-time programme at a time. They can be enrolled in an additional part-time programme if the academic workload has been considered achievable and the Tertiary Education Commission EFTS (Equivalent Full-Time Student) limit is not exceeded. Tauira may only enrol in more than one programme concurrently if the dual programme options are approved by Te Rautiaki Matauranga.
