What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide people with the academic skills, capabilities, knowledge and attributes needed to prepare for higher level education or employment.
This qualification is for people intending to pursue further qualifications in their chosen field of study or employment pathway at New Zealand Qualifications Framework Level 5 or above.
The qualification acknowledges the primacy of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in programme design and delivery.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Achievement of NCEA level 2 OR New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) OR Evidence of ability to study at this level. A literacy and/or numeracy assessment may be part of the application process. All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at this level. Those applicants whose first language is not English should have an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall Academic score of at least 5.5 issued within the last two years with no less than 5.0 in any band or equivalent. Applicants must supply a personal statement about their background, reasons for wanting to undertake the programme, and any factors that could impact on their study. Computer literacy is highly recommended in order to be able to cope with the digital components of the courses.
