What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification is intended for education practitioners who want to develop the literacy and numeracy skills of adult learners by embedding those skills into community, vocational or workplace programmes. It is a non-specialist introduction to embedding literacy and numeracy into adult and tertiary education and training.

Graduates of this qualification will have skills and knowledge related to the basics of embedded literacy and numeracy design, facilitation, assessment and evaluation.

Minimum requirements

To be accepted onto this programme, applicants must meet the following requirements: , attest to or provide written evidence that they are currently working (employed or voluntary) as an adult educator or trainer, and have access to a minimum of four adult learners (over 18 years of age) for the entire duration of the programme; Note: students working with learners under 18 years of age will require a safety check to comply with the requirements of the Vulnerable Children Act 2014. , be a domestic student (one of the following) a New Zealand citizen, or a New Zealand permanent resident currently living in New Zealand; a Cook Island, Niue or Tokelau citizen; an Australian citizen who is currently living in New Zealand; or an Australian permanent resident who has a returning resident visa and is currently living in New Zealand; provide a birth certificate or passport as evidence of identity; attest to or provide written evidence that they have regular access to a computer with reliable broadband connection for working on an online platform.
