Entry requirements

60 credits at NCEA Level 2 in four subjects, including English; or
* 42 credits at NCEA Level 3 in three subjects; or
* Satisfied the criteria for entrance to a New Zealand University, or an equivalent qualification approved by the relevant Programme Committee; or
* Completed an appropriate overseas School qualification; or
* Completed a year of study at an overseas secondary school, and gained the equivalent of 60 credits at NCEA Level 2 across 4 subjects.

Candidates with English as a second language are required to have an IELTS score of 6.0, with no individual band score lower than 5.5; or equivalent.
Provisional entry may be granted to candidates aged under 20) and special admission may be granted to candidates aged 20 years or over who do not meet the specified entry requirements. These candidates may be required to demonstrate an ability to successfully complete the programme through a process of an interview and / or assessment.

Under 20 years of age applicants:

o NCEA Level 3
o Three subjects at level 3 or above made up of:
* 14 credits each in three approved subjects
o Literacy - 10 credits at level 2 or above made up of:
* 5 credits in reading
* 5 credits in writing
o Numeracy - 10 credits at level 1 or above made up of
* Achievement standards--specified achievement standards through a range of subjects, or
* Unit standards, a package of three numeracy unit standards: 26623, 26626, 26627 (all three required)
OR
Equivalent academic achievement
OR
On a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Executive Dean
OR
Provisional enrolment.

Note:
Provisional enrolment is defined by NZQA as being Discretionary Entrance and includes the following clauses:
Discretionary enrolment may be granted to those applicants under the age of 20 who:
* are New Zealand or Australian citizens and permanent residents under 20 years of age.
* must have a minimum of 14 credits in an approved subject at Level 2 towards NCEA.
* must also have met the literacy and numeracy standards required for University Entrance.

Under 20 years of age applicants:

o NCEA Level 3

About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The aim of the degree is to produce high quality graduates who have a sound understanding of the dynamic and changing environment in which managers operate in New Zealand and internationally. It will enable graduates to apply that knowledge at both organisational and strategic levels in a range of industries and organisations. This knowledge and expertise will be underpinned by a breadth of business expertise which includes an historical perspective of business development within New Zealand and an understanding of multicultural influences on business operation. Graduates will understand and have the skills to implement sustainable focused business practices. On reaching the workplace, graduates will be able to integrate into their workplace environment quickly, having already spent time through their course of study in a work context applying the knowledge and skills of the curriculum.
