What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the Prisoner Management sector with frontline staff who have the foundation knowledge, skills, and behaviours to deliver safety, security care and prisoner rehabilitation and support reintegration functions in a New Zealand prison environment.
Graduates will be able to operate with limited supervision in varying frontline roles such as Corrections Officers, Corrections Instructors, or Reintegration Officers in a New Zealand prison environment.
Graduates will support the social and cultural aspirations of Māori, Pākehā, and other communities through their interactions in the prison environment.
