This qualification is designed for ākonga/learners wanting to develop broad technical skills and conceptual knowledge in digital media and design creative practice.

A range of industries will benefit from graduates who possess digital media and design creative capabilities.

Graduates will be able to operate independently within digital media and design creative and commercial environments.

Minimum requirements

To enter this programme, tauira must be: * 16 years or older and * A New Zealand citizen (which includes citizens of Cook Island, Niue and Tokelau) or * A New Zealand resident currently living in New Zealand or * An Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident, currently residing in New Zealand Tauira must have: * The New Zealand Certificate in Digital Media and Design (Level 4) or * The New Zealand Certificate in Arts and Design (Level 4) or * A portfolio of evidence to show technical capability that is appropriate to allow admission to a Level 5 Digital Media and Design programme; and a kaiako interview. The design and delivery of this programme encompasses the principles of Ako and Aro through the structure and scaffolding of learning, and the delivery methods used to support teaching and learning activities to enhance the Ako experience for both tauira and kaiako. A range of delivery methods are utilised within this programme to ensure that learning is tauira-centric, and that all learning needs are catered for. Activities such as group discussion and experiential learning allow for Ako and Aro to occur naturally and in a supportive learning environment. The methods used to deliver the programme consist of: - Haerenga (off-site) - One-Day Wananga (no overnight stay) - Kura Whakaako (classes with a kaiako present) - E-Learning (Kaiako-Directed and Activity-Directed learning completed online)
