About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the apparel and fashion manufacturing sector with people who can use industrial sewing machines to accurately produce, unsupervised, a variety of products to job and organisational requirements.

This qualification is suitable for people who wish to gain employment in the apparel and fashion manufacturing sector, or to recognise the specific technical skills and knowledge of people already employed in the industry as garment technologists.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

No formal qualification or portfolio is required for admission. Domestic akonga/learners must be at least 17 years of age (International 18 years of age) within their first year of study with Whitecliffe. English Language requirements: IELTS Test - General or Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent Students will require consumable materials during the programme (approximately $250). Details are available during the pre-enrolment interview.
