What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to recognise the skills and knowledge required to provide person-centred support in the health and wellbeing sectors.
The graduates will benefit by gaining recognition of transferable skills and knowledge valued across the health and wellbeing sector, and the specific skills and knowledge required to perform a role within the sector.
The community will benefit through the provision of high quality health and wellbeing services by individuals who are trained to support people, whānau and family and the wider community.
This qualification is stranded to recognise the specific skills and knowledge required for a range of roles and responsibilities in the health and wellbeing sector.
Graduates will be capable of working under limited supervision.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Age 16 years or above at the time of commencing study, New Zealand Citizen or permanent resident, NCEA level 1 (including 10 literacy and 10 numeracy credits at level 1) or equivalent evidence of suitability based on an interview, health declaration, safety check under Vulnerable Children s Act 2014, including background check and the NZ Police Licensing and Vetting Agency. For applicants over 20 years of age there are no minimum academic requirements. For domestic learners who do not have English as their first language the level of English language skills required is equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.5 in General Training Reading and General Training Writing.
