What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to recognise the skills and knowledge required to provide person-centred support in the health and wellbeing sectors.
The graduates will benefit by gaining recognition of transferable skills and knowledge valued across the health and wellbeing sector, and the specific skills and knowledge required to perform a role within the sector.
The community will benefit through the provision of high quality health and wellbeing services by individuals who are trained to support people, whānau and family and the wider community.
This qualification is stranded to recognise the specific skills and knowledge required for a range of roles and responsibilities in the health and wellbeing sector.
Graduates will be capable of working under limited supervision.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Graduates of this programme may be employed in a range of roles supporting people in the community including disability and aged support. Outcome The entry is open to applicants aged 16 years or older. To be admitted to this programme, all applicants must meet the following requirements: Face to Face Learning: Entry Requirements: * Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident; * Hold a qualification in Healthcare or equivalent; * OR have a keen interest in Healthcare and successfully attend an interview; * Have a satisfactory report from New Zealand Police vetting system if in NZ; students must complete the form to authorise Skill New Zealand to apply for this report. Blended and Online Learning: Entry Requirements: * Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident; * Hold a qualification in Healthcare or equivalent; * OR have a keen interest in Healthcare and successfully attend an interview; * Have a satisfactory report from New Zealand Police vetting system if in NZ; students must complete the form to authorise Skill New Zealand to apply for this report. * Be employed in the health and wellbeing setting or able to gain employment in the sector before enrolment start date or agree to undertake a volunteer work placement organised by Skill New Zealand. * Have basic computing skills, access to a device and the internet. International students: Entry Requirements: * Students must be 18 plus * Have a NZCEL Level 3 General, Workplace or Academic or IELTS General or Academic score of 5 with no band score lower than 5 * Hold a qualification in Healthcare or equivalent; * OR have a keen interest in Healthcare and successfully attend an interview; * Have a satisfactory report from New Zealand Police vetting system if in NZ; students must complete the form to authorise Skill New Zealand to apply for this report.
