What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the financial services industry with individuals who have competence, knowledge, and skill in the provision of financial advice.
This qualification is suitable for individuals who intend to provide regulated financial advice to clients or potential clients. The qualification is appropriate for those seeking to advance to specialist roles and/or enhance their skills and knowledge within the financial services industry.
Depending on the strand achieved, graduates will be capable of providing financial advice to meet client needs in roles in: Investment; Life, Disability, and Health Insurance; General Insurance; Residential Property Lending; Personal Lending; Banking; Trustee Services.

Minimum requirements

For entry to this programme, applicants are required to have: NCEA Level 2 with minimum of 8 credits in English ( 4 credits each in writing and reading) or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge or skills, Applicants 20 years and over who do not meet the academic requirements above must provide evidence of their academic ability to study at Level required to complete the programme successfully. This can be provided with written evidence, an interview, referee checks or a combination of these. All applicants choosing to enrol in the distance delivery mode must have access to a laptop or desktop computer with camera, reliable broadband internet connection and a data plan able to support online learning.
