What can I expect out of this qualification?

There is a growing need for effective managers who possess both technical and conceptual
managerial skills. Such managers can define business objectives, allocate resources
effectively, motivate employees and solve problems as they arise. Graduates of the Bachelor
of Applied Management will be able to apply these skills in management roles in a variety of
industry and professional settings.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Applicants under the age of 20 years must satisfy the academic requirements for university entrance, comprising: Approved subjects - 42 credits at Level 3 or higher, made up of: o 14 credits in one approved subject for university entrance o 14 credits in another approved subject for university entrance o 14 credits from one or two additional domains or approved subjects for university entrance Literacy requirements - 8 credits in English or te reo Mâori at Level 2 or higher, made up of: o 4 credits in reading o 4 credits in writing Numeracy requirements - 14 credits in Numeracy at Level 1 or higher, made up of: o credits in Mathematics or Statistics and Probability or Pangarau or unit standards 26623, 26626, 26627. or Hold a diploma at Level 5 or Level 6 with a substantial work placement component Applicants over the age of twenty years must have worked in a particular industry for at least three years and have gained some management experience or are able to provide an employer reference supporting their application. Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may never the less be considered for provisional admission. In such cases admission will be dependent on whether applicants demonstrate a reasonable likelihood of success in the programme. Continued enrolment is dependent on satisfactory performance. If English or Mâori is not the applicant s first language, or if the applicant did not undertake their secondary schooling in English, candidates will need to have passed an English language proficiency test with an Academic IEES score of at least 6.5 in all categories. Access to the internet is required for this programme.
