About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is:
- to provide competent employees who are able to work in entry-level positions in the retail sector;
- to provide a credential for those individuals who are working in entry-level positions using retail and customer service skills, that will support their career opportunities across a range of organisations in the retail sector;
- to establish standards of professional practice for retail and customer service skills that can provide customers with confidence in the service they receive.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Students must be 16yrs of age or over. Students must be able to satisfactorily demonstrate satisfactory Literacy and Numeracy levels. An interest in employment in the Retail Industry area would be an advantage. There may be further restrictions when this course is offered under a Tertiary Education Commission contract. International students or other students for whom English is a second language must have an IELTS score of 5.5 or provide evidence of an NZCEL Level 3 or equivalent
