About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the tourism industry with individuals who can support and enhance the visitor experience and use their skills and knowledge to strengthen the contribution of tourism to the New Zealand economy.
The qualification will benefit the community by enhancing the experiences of New Zealand's tourism visitors and bringing economic benefits to the country.
Graduates will be able to deliver, and assist in supporting the delivery of, a high-quality visitor experience in the tourism industry, working under broad guidance, and they may also have some responsibility for the performance of others.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
To be eligible for entry, applicants must have met the following requirements: * Be 17 years of age at course completion * Completion of NCEA Level 2 or equivalent If English is a second language an IELTS score of at least 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0, or an equivalent as per NZQF Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules 2018. Applicants not meeting the entry criteria may be considered on a case by case basis by the Academic Director. Consideration will be given to those with prior work experience and life skills experience.
