Entry requirements
Has attained a University Entrance (UE) qualification and is over the age of 17 years at the beginning of the programme's academic year or Can satisfactorily prove that they have the potential to succeed in tertiary study at degree level, including demonstrated literacy and numeracy competence equivalent to that required for UE and being over the age of 20 years at the beginning of the programme's academic year. English Language requirements All applicants must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. For applicants with English as an Additional Language, ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include the following: -IELTS Academic score of 7, with no band score lower than 7, achieved in a single test within the two years preceding enrolment Note that exemptions may apply to the above as per current Teaching Council Initial Teacher Education Requirements. International Applicant requirements -Those not schooled in New Zealand must have the equivalent of University Entrance if under 20 at the beginning of the programme's academic year.

What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of this programme of study is to prepare teaching professionals to meet the current and future demands of the Aotearoa New Zealand primary schooling context. Graduates will have achieved agency as responsive practitioners capable of using evidence to make decisions about the learning needs of individual learners. This will be achieved in a school-based model that emphasises partnership, participation, agency and excellence. They will demonstrate excellence in practice, focus on quality educational outcomes for learners and contribute to a wide range of current and future educational settings.
