What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the pharmacy sector with people who carry out a range of pharmacy dispensing services, and support the provision of safe, patient-centred healthcare.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Academic Entry Requirements: Applicants must have completed the New Zealand Certificate in Pharmacy (Introduction to Pharmacy Practice) (Level 3), or an equivalent qualification, skills or experience in the health and wellbeing sectors. Applicants who have attained the age of 20 years and do not hold the minimum entry requirements will be eligible to be enrolled where their previous educational, work or life experience indicates they have a reasonable likelihood of success. Domestic Language Entry Requirements: If English or Maori is the not the applicant's first language, applicants will need an IELTS (Academic) score of 6 with no band score lower than 6, or equivalent. International English Language Entry Requirements: International applicants will need an IELTS (Academic) score of 6 with no band score lower than 6, or equivalent. Other Entry Requirements: Students must be employed in a pharmacy while enrolled on this programme in order to complete the equivalent of 160 hours' work experience.
