What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification is intended for learners of English as an additional language who wish to develop their English language proficiency to pursue academic study requiring a high level of English language competency.

Graduates will have the language skills required to communicate independently and effectively in a wide range of academic situations with fluency and flexibility.

This qualification allows educational institutions and professional bodies to recognise the level at which the graduate can use English for academic purposes.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

All applications will be reviewed to ensure eligibility for entry. Prior to enrolment onto the programme, learners complete an initial placement test that determines English language proficiency across all NZCEL levels. More intensive diagnostic testing occurs in the first week of the programme to ensure learners are placed in the appropriate level. Limitations may be imposed on admissions and enrolment. Where there are more students than places available, students will be selected based on the order of their applications being received.
