About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification provides the baking sector with bakers who have the advanced baking knowledge and skills required to undertake a full range of technical or managerial roles in the baking industry.
Graduates will be able to take full responsibility for their performance within a craft or plant baking environment and can manage the performance of others.
Key Information for Students
Applicants must meet the following entry requirements Entry Requirements National Certificate in Baking (Level 3) OR New Zealand Certificate in Baking (Level 3) or equivalent Or Have been in employment in appropriate operational baking position/s for a minimum of 2000 hours with a valid food safety certificate And 1. Have English language competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. Any applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 6.0 (with no score below 5.5) or equivalent 2. Be physically capable of completing the practical aspects of the programme. Selection Requirements Applicants will be selected in order of receipt of completed application. Processes All applicants will be interviewed. The interview will provide an opportunity to discuss the following: a. any learning support that may be required by the applicant b. any health matters or otherwise that may relate to the handling of food and beverage products during the programme c. students will be informed of the necessity to participate in early morning and evening classes as required d. requirements for work experience/ industry placement e. bring-your-own-device requirements Students will be advised of options for acquisition d. any other relevant matters
