What does the scholarship get me?
Up to $1,000.00 depending on the need and cost of the course being undertaken.

Purpose of award
The Foundation offers financial assistance to provide training opportunities for students in New Zealand and the South Pacific region.
The scholarships are available to tertiary students, both female and male, who were born in the South Pacific region which not only includes the island nations of the Pacific but also New Zealand and Australia. Students born in the South Pacific wishing to study in New Zealand or anywhere in the South Pacific are eligible for the scholarship.
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
Candidates must submit an interim report outlining progress made and a full report on the completion of the course.

This application must be accompanied by:
a) An outline of the course for which financial support is required and the benefits to be derived from your completion of this course.
b) Evidence of you having been accepted in the accredited educational or training course in the year in which you are applying. NZQA if in New Zealand.
c) A full budget for the total cost of the course.
d) The amount of financial contribution which you are prepared to make, and any other financial assistance available.
e) A current C.V. (if you require this to be returned please include a stamped addressed envelope.)
f) A current (not more than 2 years old) character reference from a responsible citizen.

Applications will be processed in February / March and successful applicants notified by 02 March 2018.

History or background of award
The foundation was established to commemorate the life and work of the late Barbara Wood MBE, the South Pacific Area Vice-President of the Associated Country Women of the World, from 1975-77. Mrs Wood, who died tragically in the Mt Erebus air disaster, was also Deputy World President of the same organisation between 1977-1979.
A prepared budget must be included detailing information about other forms of assistance applied for aas well as personal contribution that may be made.
