Entry requirements

A candidate for admission to the Food Costing microcredential must:
- Be employed in the tourism or hospitality sector and have permission to use their workplace as a basis for their learning, and
- Have gained 48 credits at NCEA Level 2 including credits in English and Math, or
- A relevant qualification at NZQF Level 3 or above, or
- At the discretion of the programme coordinator.

Learners are also required to access most of the learning material online so internet access and basic skills in computing is essential.
This micro-credential is not offered to international students unless their employer either organises the training or requires or funds the student's enrolment.

This micro-credential allows students to develop skills and knowledge related to food cost control measures to improve the financial performance of commercial kitchen operations.
